Ever wondered how a sponge filters water?

- The video begins with an underwater clip of a sponge. A diver is seen dispensing a green, nontoxic dye into the water around the sponge in order to see how the water moves.

The green dye moves spreads slowly around the sponge and about 11 seconds into the video, a straight, jet-like stream of the green-dyed water is being shot out of the sponge and back into the ocean. The green, jet-like stream indicates the water that has been filtered by the sponge.
